Jim Young Masonry is a family owned business with a long-standing heritage of delivering high quality masonry design and construction to the Monterey Peninsula.

It was in the aftermath of the famous Loma Prieta Earthquake of 89 where owner Jim Young gained his abundant knowledge and skill of his craft as he helped rebuild many homes and business on the Central Coast.

In that earthquake more than 6,000 fireplaces came down in Santa Cruz County alone. Jims experience in rebuilding many of those fallen fireplaces was the basis of him becoming one of the few experts on the Central Coast in authentic Rumford fireplace construction.

Since then he has tackled all sizes of projects ranging from small renovation jobs to multi-million-dollar new construction projects in Pebble Beach.

Jim consistently researches new masonry techniques, and continually test new products and materials. He combines this know how with good "old world" craftsmanship, giving him the ability to create one of kind, custom tailored masonry projects satisfying even the most discriminating of tastes.

Jim takes great pride in his work and is passionate about getting the job done right the first time. He works closely with his clients and is considerate of their desires, schedule and budget.
